Preserving Pennsylvania’s Natural Heritage

What’s New

Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests serve as critical habitat for endangered species, protect clean drinking water supplies for communities downstream, and afford recreational opportunities to millions of the state’s—and the nation’s—residents.

After passing the state House in mid-December, the Pennsylvania Appalachian Trail Act (HB1281) garnered the support of the state Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee when its members voted the bill out of committee unanimously on February 5th.
