| As we’ve known for many years, Bucks County residents from all walks of life support preserving the county’s rich natural heritage. If you’re a Democrat, Republican or Independent, or if you’re from Bristol or New Hope or Quakertown, voters showed that protecting Bucks County’s landscapes is important, for now and for future generations of Bucks County residents. |

| State College, PA- Oil and gas drilling in the Allegheny National Forest jeopardizes $4 billion per year in Pennsylvania business from transportation, lodging, equipment, and licenses for such activities as fishing, hunting, and wildlife watching, according to a new report released today by PennEnvironment. The PennEnvironment report on the value of recreation, water and wildlife, “Worth More Wild: The Value of Pennsylvania’s Roadless National Forest,†analyzes data from a national survey done by the United States Fish & Wildlife Service. |

| While most eyes are currently focused on the impending budget battle in Harrisburg, the state legislature and Governor Ed Rendell took the last step to protect PA’s portion of the Appalachian Trail when the governor signed HB1281 into law (PA Act 24, 2008) yesterday afternoon. This legislation will take much-needed action to preserve the state’s section of this important national treasure that from encroaching development and other threats. |
