On Saturday, cars filled with old cans of paint, half-empty bottles of pesticide and used motor oil flocked to Northampton Community College to unload the toxins.
Chucking the materials out with trash destined for landfills is environmentally disastrous — not to mention illegal. That's why Northampton County and others across the state organize hazardous waste drop-off events and recycling education programs.
