Big offender

Editor:

A massive amount of global warming pollution is coming from our state - 1 percent of global emissions.  Pennsylvania has an emerging green economy - as evidenced by the wind turbines in Northeast Pennsylvania - which is vital for reducing our global warming pollution.  Now, we need to make sure that Congress acts to expand clean energy across the country.

Congress has the opportunity to put a cap on global warming pollution and advance renewable energy in America this summer.  Clean energy has the power to reinvigorate our economy by creating jobs, by putting billions of dollars of capital investment into the U.S. economy, and by protecting consumers from volatile fossil fuel costs.

The American Clean Energy and Security Act would make alternative energy solutions a reality.  PennEnvironment is working to ensure that this act is passed.  I urge citizens to get involved today in support of this critical legislation.
