Help to Reverse a Legacy of Pollution

Pennsylvania is home to more than 1,000 abandoned industrial sites and toxic dumpsites that must be cleaned up and restored.  The cleanup of these sites is critical to protecting Pennsylvania’s environment, economy and the public health.

The program that cleans up these sites is the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Fund and it was expected to run out of money by January 1, 2008. While the Pennsylvania legislature averted catastrophe by passing a short-term funding proposal for HSCA, more must be done. Our cornerstone toxic cleanup programs should have the long-term, dedicated funding that they need.  Email your legislators today. Thank them for coming up with a short-term fix for HSCA, but call on them to pass permanent, dedicated funding for this important program.
