Right now, Pennsylvania is one of only a few states in the nation that doesn't have an impact tax on gas drilling companies like Exxon-Mobil. That leaves you and me paying to clean up their mess, while they make millions contaminating our environment.

Subject Approve Gov. Rendell's proposed Impact Tax on natural gas
Letter * As part of his budget, Gov. Rendell proposed an impact tax that would charge companies for the natural gas they extract from Pennsylvania. Right now, every other major drilling state in the nation has an impact tax, except Pennsylvania. During these difficult economic times, this tax could fund environmental programs and help deal with the current budget crisis. I urge you to support the governor's proposed impact tax. Sincerely,
